Add to cart: 15 things we’re eyeing right now

If there’s one thing we all have in common at Sauce, it’d be trawling through the vast online-shopping universe and finding cool new things we didn’t know we actually needed. Our team of in-house saucettes and contributors from around the globe have shared their ‘add to cart’ picks this month. Hope you find some inspiration for your next purchase.

FLORE FLORE Max Tee in Audrey

I know I had to select one item but if I’m honest, I just want one of everything, okay? FLORE FLORE is an Amsterdam-based brand founded by Flòrian van Zuilen. Balancing romance and classic tailoring, the label reimagines cotton classics for the modern woman — something many attempted but miserably failed.

FAUM Candle Chess Set

I am obsessed. Obsessed! It’s a chess set made of beeswax that is meant to be played and burned. Once you played a dramatic game with vigor and a deeper sense of mortality, you can purchase the refills. I love the explanation for the desire to create a chess set made of wax by FAUM’s founder Tatsiana Shevarenkova, who is also a sculptor at Cosset Ceramics. She said, “What truly fascinated me was the prospect of transforming an already dramatic game into something ritualistic — the inevitable losses, and the act of lighting the pieces one by one, culminating with the burning of the Queen.”

Walk Through Walls: A Memoir by Marina Abramovic

“I had experienced absolute freedom — I had felt that my body was without boundaries, limitless; that pain didn’t matter, that nothing mattered at all — and it intoxicated me”, shared Marina Abramovic. Marina's narrative, alternating between poignant, grand, and wryly amusing, chronicles an unparalleled artistic journey characterized by surpassing her physical boundaries amidst fear, pain, fatigue, and peril, all in a relentless pursuit of emotional and spiritual metamorphosis.

Lucinda Babi Lustre Bow Top

Lucinda Babi is a fresh Aussie label, launched in 2018, all about bespoke fashion from Melbourne. Her pieces? Sort of Bridgerton vibes, but with a modern twist. I'm eyeing this giant bow top—it's so extra, but that's exactly what I'm feeling lately. Time to add to cart, pronto!

Kit : Gua Sha Body Tool

I'm all about that Gua Sha life lately, and now I'm eyeing this steel body Gua Sha Tool from Kit to bring it into the body care arena. It's a perfect tool for releasing muscle tension and boosting circulation, plus it's great for lymphatic drainage. And here's a cool trick I picked up from that viral Kendal Vogue video: letting the steel Gua Sha chill in a cup of ice before using it. Feels amazing on the skin, especially around the eyes.

Omega Constellation 29mm Watch

Bougie watches have been my weakness lately. I recently discovered this specific OMEGA Constellation is made from a genuine piece of iron meteorite. The natural pattern within the meteorite is unique to each model, meaning that no two dials are ever the same. It is completed with a date window at 6H, along with diamond hour markers, and a Constellation star in 18K yellow gold. This is a forever piece to pass down generations. A girl can only dream.

Walking Through Clear Water in a Pool Painted Black: Collected Stories by Cookie Mueller

Olivia Laing summarised Cookie’s memoir so poignantly in her foreword, “Well, I wish those people were still with us, but fortunately for us they’ve left a lot of themselves behind in forms more durable than bodies. Buy this book and give it to every young person you know. Tell them it’s important to remember that we didn’t always live as we do now, and that alternative modes remain a possibility. Cookie is a live corrective to conformity, conservatism, and cruelty.”

Alix Higgins Taffeta Track Shorts

I am frothing at the mouth for the heat — salivating. Summer is about to roll over our backs, and all I want to do is bake and wear Alix Higgins. I love a basketball short fit; it’s baggy and covers my bogus knees.

Emma Lewisham Illuminating Face Exfoliant

I have been rolled by London’s water. Every part of my body hates it. It tastes like shit and it does mayhem to my hair. I have also been breaking out from all the crap in it. I have had several painful ingrown hairs and I have treated them all with consistant as fuck exfoliation. The Emma Lewisham exfoliant is a non-negotiable shower staple. I can use it every day, sometimes morning and night, that’s how gross my face is after a day on these streets.

Shadow Damage Photo Book By Nicole Brannen

I’m cheating a little bit here since Shadow Damage is not in my cart but is already on my bedside table. I’ve admired Nicole’s work for a while so when she released a book last month I had to get my hands on it ASAP. A collection of dreamy, stunning images of Aotearoa and its people by a local artist — highly recommend!

ISAMAYA Industrial Colour Pigments 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been influenced. @Laravioletta is one of the only beauty influencers I follow and she uses this palette to create some simple but memorable looks. One thing about me, less is never more — I love love love shimmers and there isn’t a single matte pigment here. Lara often uses it not only as an eyeshadow but as a lip product too. Definitely outside of my uni-student budget but maybe one day I will give a review!

Nicklas Skovgaard Dress

Continuing with the ‘more is more’ theme, Nicklas Skovgaard is a Copenhagen-based brand combining contrasting textiles in unexpected silhouettes. History and pop culture are the bedrock of every collection. According to Nicklas, he pulls inspiration from baroque aristocratic portraiture as well as Madonna’s music videos. There is no dress in particular that I am swooning over, but anything with a balloon hem is to die for.

2023 Fall/Winter i-D Magazine, Issue 373

I've been eyeing this issue since last year and I heard Mag Nation in Ponsonby got it recently, but I haven't had the time to check it out. The hottest and newest faces in the current pop culture scene are in this issue (like North West and Pinkpantheress) and I'm interested in reading about them. The cover I want to get my hands on is the one with Alex Consani, she has been an icon in recent fashion weeks and I think she's taking over the modelling industry by changing the way we see gender and beauty in fashion.

PL.AT.FO.RM_'s NY018 Earrings

I love handmade silver jewellery, it's a piece of artwork I get to carry around with me all the time. I went to PL.AT.FO.RM's collection launch evening last year in December and I was just in awe with her pieces. Her silver pieces are so unique, raw yet sophisticated.

Junya Watanabe Black Biker Faux Leather Vest

I would love to get my hands on any Junya Watanabe jackets, preferably his older designs and second hand. Every time I see a Junya Watanabe jacket, I am sooo speechless and I just need to have one in my closet. Junya Watanabe is one of my favourite designers, he is renowned for his avant-garde style.
